2022 GACTE Legislative Priorities

2022 Legislative Priorities

Priority 1: Restore Career, Technical and Agricultural Budgets to the amount funded in FY 2020.

 

Priority 2: Support increased funding levels for Extended Day/Extended Year Grants to provide enhanced engagement for students through Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO’s) and other types of related experiences.

 

Priority 3: Pursue opportunities to recruit and retain quality Career, Technical and Agriculture Education (CTAE) teachers in middle and high school.

 

Priority 4: Support and maintain funding for Career Related Education Grants (Capital Equipment Bonds).

 

Priority 5: Support enhanced efforts to increase the workforce pipeline by providing incentives to employers for hiring qualified CTAE students.

 

Priority 6: Support legislation that reduces employer risk when participating in work-based learning to expand work-based learning opportunities that ensure the availability of a highly skilled workforce for Georgia employers.
